AVA FERRERA
Storytelling is making the abstract visual and mystifying the mundane — taking us on a journey of evocative stories, emotions and visuals which are transformative, sensorial and reminiscent experiences.
All you need is a vision and an encounter… for a creation to come to life. Storytelling is not about "being", but rather "becoming".

“Go a little bit out of your depth, and when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting."
—DAVID BOWIE
Ava's Aesthetic
Ava Ferrera is an independent film director, writer, cinematographer and producer based in Portugal, known for her moody, artistic, sensory and provocative approach and film style.
Feature films and documentaries shot in art house and new waves styles.
Lo-fi luxury editorial aesthetic filmmaking for short films, commercials, videos and reels for social media and/or branding.
"I curate a lo-fi luxury storytelling aesthetic and filmmaking style inspired by my love affair with the French new wave movement that emerged in the late 1950's. The movement was characterized by its rejection of traditional filmmaking conventions in favor of experimentation by embracing 'imperfections', expression and individuality.
Storytelling is universal to the human experience, and I want to share how I see the world through my lens — that intangible essence through my unorthodox craftsmanship and artistic spirit."
—Ava Ferrera
“Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.”
—PICASSO
